Batten Down the Hatches!
I had originally planned to bike the 25 miles home from work the night this shot was taken. At the end of the work day, it was over 100 degrees and very humid. On top of all that, there was a steady 30mph headwind that would have made the trip home sheer misery. I called my wife to give me a ride home instead.
Almost as soon as we got home, this storm descended on our neighborhood. About a minute after this picture was taken, the temperature dropped by 30 degrees and the tempest began. I’m very glad I got a ride home since I would have still been on the trail.
Vital Stats: Canon 40D w/Canon 10-22mm @ 10mm ISO 800, f/3.5, 1/30sec (it was DARK!)
