Time for another beautiful bridal shot. This one was taken just moments before the ceremony started in a private little courtyard just behind the park where the wedding took place. It was sort of tough conditions – direct Southern California sun at mid-afternoon. This helped make a nice contrasty shot that translated well into this desaturated shot.
The image processing was done with Lightroom 2’s adjustment brush. I set it to ‘desaturate’ and started painting (with my Wacom tablet) everything that shouldn’t be colored. It was a little putzy around the flowers, but I got the transition really clean.
Vital Stats: Canon 40D w/Canon 70-200 f/4L @ 163mm. ISO 100, f/9, 1/250 sec (it was really bright!)
