Whitefish Dunes

This shot was a first for me – it was the first time my wife came with on a dawn shoot.  We were in Door County for our 5 year wedding anniversary – and I couldn’t resist trying to get a little work done while I was there.  Fortunately, this spot was a reasonable walk from the road since bushwhacking into unknown territory in the dark is always an adventure.  This spot is on the north end of Whitefish Dunes State Park in what is called Cave Point County Park.

Pretty cool! Needs some more contrast & saturation. That is the hard thing with digital. Love the water.

Thanks, Jon! It was actually a pretty foggy morning, so it was *tough* to get a nice contrasty shot. The light was really filtered so I already boosted both a lot. I also had to use a 3-stop hard GND in the upper right corner tipped at a 45 degree angle to get ANYTHING in the sky. I sometimes feel that I get a little ham-handed with the saturation, so I’m trying to be conscious of not making circus-y looking photos.
